Nashua, NH -- June 1, 2003 -- NuWave Technologies, Inc. announces the release of SOAP/AM™, a “middleware‿ software product for HP NonStop Server systems. SOAP/AM™ allows customers to expose their existing Pathway servers as Web Services that can be accessed though the standard SOAP protocol over HTTP by client applications on virtually any platform.
SOAP is an XML-based standard for inter-application messaging promulgated by the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C). It has received broad support from software manufacturers, including Microsoft, Sun, IBM and many others. Microsoft’s .NET development tools, for example, have built-in support for efficiently creating Web Service client applications. Online services Amazon.com and Google now provide access to their applications through Web Services. SOAP is quickly becoming the client/server protocol of choice.
By providing a standard SOAP interface to NSK-based server applications, SOAP/AM™ allows client application developers to take advantage of the latest development tools to build user interfaces. SOAP/AM™ works with customers’ existing server applications, preserving their investments in development and testing. No server software changes or recompilation is required, thus minimizing risk and maximizing productivity.
SOAP/AM™ is integrated with HP’s NonStop TM/MP software for transaction management. SOAP/AM™ conforms to the SOAP, XML, SSL, TLS, HTTP and WebDAV standards. The product features a browser-based management interface and Web Service Definition Wizard tool that allows Web services to be online with just a few mouse clicks.
SOAP/AM™ installs entirely on the NonStop Server – no client software deployment is necessary. SOAP/AM™ does not require OSS (the POSIX personality for NonStop Servers), a web server or language compiler.
